Why is it called DryLand Salon?

Why is it called “DryLand?”

Did you know that the owners of DryLand Salon are sisters, and that they love sailing? They love it so much that when trying to describe how amazing something feels, like a great haircut, they’d put it in terms of a glorious sailing adventure:

It’s like reaching Dry Land after days at sea.

We think other sailors understand this feeling, and the depths of emotion that come from sailing adventures, just like the adventure of Susie Goodall in the Golden Globe Sailing Race around the world non-stop.

It’s a powerful story, and we thought we should share it so that you might also feel some of what it’s like to approach land after so long at sea.

“Nearing Tasmania, the scent of land nearly knocked her breathless. Soon the flat horizon broke into a rise of mountains, the blues and grays split by a shock of green and brown. She began to feel some excitement at the thought of seeing faces again.”
